About Sarah
Hello to you all and thank you for checking out our website!
Background information about myself:
I was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia. My dad was a city firefighter and part-time building manager at a Chrysler dealership, and my mother, a secretary to the private pre-school at our church as well as a great house-wife. My brother is seven and a half years older than I am, so I was the little tag-along sister who picked up a little something from everyone. For example, while my dad taught me how to build things and tinker with things around the house, my mother taught me cooking and crafting, and my brother “taught” me wrestling (or showed off by pinning me all the time) and building forts and teaching me how to drive go-carts and jumping off bridges into creeks (although I never learned that very well).
Meanwhile, my grandparents from my dad’s side lived right next door in a house that dates back to civil war times. They split their seven acres with my dad so that my parents could build our house on the same property. I loved having our houses share the same property. Being able to run around freely, fish or swim in our creek, learn about growing/picking wild and farmed fruits and veggies from my grandparents, and enjoy the wildlife that still lived around us was a huge blessing!
Thus far, you could say I’m a country girl raised in the city.
Overview of actual activities:
Private preschool where my mom worked, public school the rest of the time, dance classes from the time i was 6 (my choice) until… well, I’m still dancing! Also, i attended the boy scout meetings and camp outs my dad and brother went on since my dad was the boy scout Master of troop 144 and the friday night football games when my brother was in high school marching band.
College life (the present life):
I have traveled overseas 3 times in my life, but have never traveled much beyond the bordering states of Georgia. Then, I went to college.
Belhaven College, located in Jackson, MS, is still in the southeast, but the farthest west I’d been. Studying dance and theatre in a Christian setting was ideal before I planned to go out into the big world of broadway or maybe even Cirque where I knew I would need a strong foundation in both skill and faith!
Plans don’t always follow the same path as started however, and I met the love of my life, Chad, and I allowed God to re-cleanse and refocus my heart and plans, and now surprise of surprises, we are making room in our life for our beautiful baby girl, Katherine Grace. I still have a year and a half or so to finish school, but my life plans are far more focused and defined than when I first set out!
