Katherine is now five days old, almost to the minute, and she couldn’t be doing better. We took her to the doctor for a quick scheduled check-up today and they were very pleased with how well she’s doing. She’s most of the way back up to birth weight now, and I expect she’ll be growing like a weed for the next 15 years or so. Here’s what she looks like today:
We were able to come home on Saturday afternoon, and all three of us are very glad to be here. The hospital did allow us dads to stay in the room with mama and baby, but the accommodations weren’t terribly comfy:
Katherine only woke us up once last night to eat (the doctor says this is OK since she’s obviously gaining weight) and she only really fusses a lot when she has to burp or when her mom or dad wipes her bottom with something cold.
And I’ll stop writing now, because we all know why you’re really here: the pictures.

Katherine, what a blessing you are to us! We’ve waited and prayed for you for 9 months, (some times none to patiently) and you’re everything we dreamed of. It thrills me to watch you nuzzle up to your mommy or gaze up at your daddy and seeing the love in thier eyes and the awe and wonder in their smiles. What a treasure God has given us in you! I love you!

Katherine Grace,
We have not had the pleasure of meeting you but we know your parents. You are one sweet blessing and we are so thrilled that you have come into this world. You have wonderful parents who have been excited about you since before you were “even thought of”. We hope to meet you soon and we’re so happy you are finally here.
p.s. when you start dancing ask your dad to show you the “floppy arm dance” I think it will make you laugh. . .

What a cutie!! We had SO much fun waiting for her to come into this world. And holding her…
now that’s a whole ‘nother story.(But of course
Grandparents would think so)

Ok, so she has Chad’s forehead too. An interesting project might be to post baby pics of each of you next to her picture so we can see how much she looks like both of you put together. And it’s funny, because that’s what she is, yet she’s a third person altogether. Love you, Katiegirl!
