Although I am writing this on Saturday with 3 days to go, these pictures were taken Thursday night, which according to my due date, gave us 5 days to go until September 10 arrived!!

News about what the doctor says:

Katherine is a wonderfully healthy weight. Their best guess according to the ultrasound is 7 pounds 11 ounces (measured on Wednesday with one week to go). Next Wednesday, they said to add a half a pound to her weight, so theoretically, she’ll be 8 pounds 3 ounces on the day of her due date.

We haven’t mentioned this on our blog, but Katherine has a two-vessel umbilical cord instead of a three-vessel umbilical cord like normal. This means there’s one artery and one vein instead of two arteries and one vein in her umbilical cord. It is no threat as long as she’s growing right on target, and she has been every time they’ve checked. However, this also means that they are pushing to induce labor Wednesday morning for fear that the placenta might not be strong enough to sustain her as she increases in size every day (or at least I think that’s why the doctor told me they wanted to induce).

Hopefully, she will decide to come on her own before that, or the doctor will give her just a little longer (I would prefer no to be induced), but either way, we know for sure that less than a week from now, Chad and I will be parents!!
