Yes, we have updates! Too many to put on one post, so we’ll start with house updates because we have pictures with those.

So over two weeks ago (Aug 3-9), my parents came to Jackson to help us do some renovations that Chad and I have been wanting to do, but don’t have the tools, time, know-how, or man power (at least until I am no longer pregnant). It was wonderful to see my parents, and it was wonderful to have their help!

Everything from replacing doors, replacing faucets, installing a ceiling fan, completely replacing shutters, installing lighting, and moving furniture around to accommodate new floor plans and a new baby, my parents are super multi-talented powerhouses!!

They were troopers in this Mississippi heat and humidity. As I tried my best to help where I could and keep them company, the heat beat me to a pulp and I was turned inside to help in other ways: feeding this couple. Even doing this task, I was forced to take breaks from the fetching and standing, seeing as how five weeks away from delivery, braxton-hicks contractions are becoming uncomfortable and there’s no way we wanted to encourage pre-term labor.

So, with Chad helping me and my parents helping us, and Buster just being Buster, we had a great time, and as I come closer to the end of pregnancy and add finishing touches to my nest, I am thoroughly excited to be enjoying all the improvements to our little home!

Now, as I’ve teased you about all the great new things, you’ll have to wait until the next post to see the before and after pictures of the handi-work (hey, more to look forward to right?).
