Well, over the past several weeks since we last posted anything here, we’ve been very, very busy. We took a trip to Louisiana (both Lafayette and New Orleans), and got my (Chad’s) sister married off.
I’ve been settling very well into my new computer-programming job…it’s right up my alley. I’m also becoming involved with a performing arts company started by my old Theatre professor from Belhaven. Nothing is actually being produced yet, we’re just laying the groundwork for much more to come. I’ve also been designing a few websites.
Sarah’s been quite busy with school and all the dance-related activities involved with that. I’ll bet you never thought a dance major would have to go through so much academic work.
As busy as we’ve been, we decided a getaway was in order for this weekend, so yesterday we drove up the Natchez Trace a short way to a historical site (the northern boundary of the early-18th-century “West Florida” territory). This site was also the trailhead for a ~24 mile section of trail paralleling the Trace, so we got to hike a little while and share a picnic afterwards.
Here are a few of the things we saw.
Of course, after we got back to the parking area, we took our picnic to a picnic table out in the field and had some supper. And we threw the football around for a little while.
Leaving that evening, Sarah caught a great shot of the sunset.
All-in-all, it was a very relaxing day, and we hope to do a lot more of that very soon!

Good to get some news from you two! I have been checking on you, Stephen and Beth, and Beck and Darden, and you finally broke the silence. Thanks for the update; glad the new job is going well. Next time you need a get away, think Hungary. Hope to see you at Christmas.
